What Our Boiler Service Includes
A service should be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer and usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. We check:

Repair or Replace? Signs You Need a New Boiler
A repair is usually the cheaper option, but if any of these sound familiar, it may be time to replace your boiler:
- It’s more than 10–15 years old

How much does a new boiler cost in Manchester?

How often should my boiler be serviced?
Once a year. An annual service keeps your boiler safe and efficient, and most manufacturers need it to keep your warranty valid.
Is it worth repairing an old boiler?
If it’s under 10 years old and the fault is simple, a repair usually makes sense. If it’s older, breaking down often, or parts are expensive, a new boiler is often cheaper in the long run. We’ll give you honest advice either way.
Which boiler brands do you work on?
All the major brands, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, Viessmann, Glow-worm and Potterton.
Do you work on oil and LPG boilers?
Yes. Oil boiler work is carried out by OFTEC-registered technicians, and LPG and mains gas work by Gas Safe registered engineers.
How much does a boiler service cost?
A gas boiler service typically costs £80 to £120. Landlords can combine a service with a gas safety certificate (CP12) in the same visit to save money.
Should my boiler engineer be Gas Safe registered?
Yes. By law, anyone working on a gas boiler must be on the Gas Safe Register. Ask to see their ID card and check it at gassaferegister.co.uk.
What are the signs my boiler is broken?
No heating or hot water, a pressure gauge below 1 bar, an error code on the display, strange banging or whistling noises, a leak underneath, or a boiler that keeps switching itself off. If you smell gas, leave the property and call 0800 111 999.
Why is my boiler pressure low?
Usually because water is escaping somewhere: a small leak, a faulty pressure relief valve, or after bleeding radiators. Our guide explains what to check before you call an engineer.
Why aren’t my radiators warming up properly?
Cold at the top usually means trapped air that needs bleeding. Cold at the bottom or in patches often points to sludge, which a power flush can clear. See our central heating services.
